Our visit to Cologne

The train ride to Cologne (with a stopover in Arnhem) was very comfortable. We sat completely in the back of the train, so we had a view of the landscape, 'leaving everything behind'.

After a short detour by foot (we almost walked around the entire Messe for nothing), we arrived at our hotel (with a cab). Very nice designed lounge and the room was great too.

The first evening we headed out to the Rudolfplatz and had dinner outside, at a bistro popular with the local gay community (we discovered when the waiter came to the table in tight leather pants).

Saturday we visited the Ludwig Musem, that has contemporary art (a.o. pop art) and a not so interesting photo exhibition, called 'What does the jellyfish want?'

On Sunday we climbed the Dom, the cathedral of Cologne. Five hundred and nine steps to the top!
